Caring for Your Christmas Tree
“Trees have feelings too”
Tips
Tip #1 – Have the right tree stand:
Having the right sized tree stand for your live Christmas tree is important for its stability, alignment, ease of setup, safety, and water support.
Tip #2 – Water ASAP:
Once you get home with your live Christmas tree, place it in water as soon as possible.
Tip #3 - Check the water level:
Check the tree stand daily to make sure that the level of water does not go below the base of your live Christmas tree.
Tip #4 - Unplug the lights:
Always turn off the tree lights when leaving the house or when you are going to bed.
Tip #5 - Any water temperature will do:
The temperature of the water you use to fill the tree stand is not important and will not affect your live Christmas tree ‘drinking’ water.
Tip #6 - Room temperature matters:
Lowering the temperature in the room that your live Christmas tree is in will slow the drying process, resulting in the tree ‘drinking’ water each day.
Tip #7 – Heat is bad:
Keep your live Christmas tree away from major sources of heat like fireplaces, heaters, heat vents, and direct sunlight.
Tip #8 – Recycle:
Recycle your live Christmas tree when you are finished. Never burn your Christmas tree. Most weekly garbage collection companies will have a day where they will collect your undecorated Christmas tree.
